Juliette Cognié (Doctor in veterinary medicine since 1997) worked as a substitute veterinarian for ten years before her recruitment at National Institut of the Agronomic Research in 2003 as surgeon in the Reproductive Physiology and Behavior Unit. She obtained her agreement for animal experimentation in 2004 and graduated in laparoscopic surgery in 2009.

She is involved in the organisation of practical or theoretical training courses for experimenters, particularly on the subject of animal pain and its treatment. She is involved in ethical reflection and ensures a regulatory watch for her unit. She chairs the Val de Loire Ethics Committee since 2015.
